2019 has come to a close, and we are heading into a new year. Like always, Murfreesboro plans to start the new year off right with exciting events scheduled for the month of January. From exciting family-friendly concerts to fundraisers for a good cause, there is a way for everyone in Rutherford County to experience Murfreesboro in January and get involved with the local community. 

 

Polar Bear Plunge (January 4th)


The Polar Bear Plunge is an exciting event that the whole family will enjoy. The event will take place at Sports*Com on Memorial Blvd in Murfreesboro. It is set to start on January 4th at 8:30 AM, and it is free with a non-perishable food donation(donations are given to Greenhouse Ministries). The event will feature fun games for kids, including inflatables, and hot drinks and donuts. The plunge starts at 10:00 AM, and there are event t-shirts available for purchase. All ages are welcome, and it is a great way to get the family out for some community fun.  

 

The Secret Commonwealth Concert (January 10th)


The Secret Commonwealth Concert is perfect for those who love Irish and Scottish drinking songs and great food and beverages. It is also a family-friendly event, and you can bring your kids to join in on the singing fun(your dog is welcome to come as well). The music will feature songs of love, war and drinking. The event is scheduled to take place on January 10th from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM at Hop Springs Beer Park in Murfreesboro, TN. The admission is free, and it is a smoke-free, friendly environment that everyone of all ages can enjoy. 

 

SEBRA National Finals (January 24th - 25th)


The SEBRA National Finals is set to take place on January 24th and 25th at the Tennessee Miller Coliseum in Murfreesboro. The event both nights will start at 7:30 PM. The National Finals will feature some of the best bull riders and barrel racers nationally, and it is a great event to visit if you love rodeo-style events. Children are more than welcome to attend as well, and they are certain to enjoy the delicious food, fun games and funny rodeo clown. The riders are certain to entertain, and it is a fun way to support the community and spend time with family and friends. 

 

Southern Invitational Truck & Tractor Pull (January 31st)


The Southern Invitational Truck and Tractor Pull will take place in three different sessions on January 31st and February 1st. The Friday night show starts at 7:00 PM, and there are two sessions on Saturday at 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM. The cost of admission is $15 for the first two events and $20 for the Saturday night event. All kids 10 and under are free. If you love huge trucks and tractors competing to see who is the biggest and baddest, then you, your friends and family members will love this intriguing event.
