Murfreesboro offers exciting events every month, from brilliant concerns for the whole family to kid’s plays to arts and crafts festivals. This August is not any different, and there are exciting events taking place each week. The following are four fun events you and your family, friends or significant other are not going to want to miss this Agust in Murfreesboro, TN. 

 

National Night Out (August 6th)

This August 6th, the first Tuesday of the month, is National Night Out day, which will take place at 8:30 PM at Patterson Park and Murfreesboro’s Historic Downtown Square. National Night Out is a community-building event put on by the Murfreesboro Police Department, and it is intended to establish and develop a better relationship between the citizens of Murfreesboro and local law enforcement. The event features exciting games to take part in, delicious food and stations intended to educate the community on crime prevention. People of all ages are welcome to attend, and admission is completely free for everyone. 

 

Arts in The Parks Concert (August 10th)

The Murfreesboro Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet hosts the Arts in The Park Concert at Stones River National Battlefield in Murfreesboro this August 10th. The event will last for approximately an hour starting at 1:00 PM and the admission is free for everyone. The purpose of the event is to celebrate the role music has played throughout history, particularly the effect music had on Civil War Soldiers in the Murfreesboro area. There is limiting seating available, so be sure to get their early or bring your own blankets and lawn chairs to stay comfortable on the lawn. Adults and children of all ages are welcome to attend. 

 

Discover India Day (August 17th)

The Discover India Day is set to take place at the Discovery Center in Murfreesboro on August 17th. This will be the 7th annual Discover India Day, and the event will celebrate ancient and modern Indian culture. Among other activities, attendees can take pictures in front of the Taj Mahal, go on a Gahndi walk and explore the arena in Indian clothing. The event will last from 10 AM to 5 PM, and admission is completely free for everyone thanks to the Nissan Foundation’s sponsorship. This event is a great way to have a good time with the entire family and learn more about historic and modern Indian culture. 

 

2nd Annual Pickin’ at Puckett’s (August 29th)

The 2nd Annual Pickin’ at Puckett’s is scheduled for August 29th, and the event will feature delicious food vendors, live music and entertaining community events. The event features musician Gary Jenkins and Pucket’s signature menu items, along with various other exciting activities. The admission is completely free for everyone who is interested, and the event is set to take place from 6 PM to 9 PM. The venus is Puckett’s Murfreesboro, located on Church Street in Murfreesboro. Be sure to bring your family, friends or significant other and have fun during this exciting event.
