Coronavirus has unfortunately canceled or postponed events in Murfreesboro in the surrounding area for at least the month of April. However, this does not mean you cannot show your support for the community and enjoy fun events in the Murfreesboro area without ever having to leave your home.
Many events have moved online, and they provide a great way to keep yourself and your family occupied during this strange time. The following is a highlight of events that were originally scheduled for April and postponed or moved into an online event.
Little Woman - The Musical (Postponed Until May 14-17)
Little Woman is an internationally admired musical that was originally scheduled for April 04th. For the health and safety of the workers and all in attendance, the event has been moved to May 14-17. The play is put on by The Center for The Arts offers theatre, youth programs and much more to the local Murfreesboro community. They have events all throughout the year, and they are located on West College Ave in Murfreesboro. Be sure to mark down the Little Woman Musical for May 14-17 (or later if postponed again) and show your support for The Center for The Arts, which has been a part of the Murfreesboro community for 25 years.
Richard Smith Concert (April 12 - Online)
One of the best ways to make it through challenging times is through the help of music. Although many concerts are canceled, many artists are moving to an online platform. The Richard Smith Guitar Concert will take place online on April 12th. Richard Smith is a talented musician from England who is now based in Nashville. He is a versatile artist that plays many different types of music and is great with a guitar. His online concert is family-friendly so the kids can get in on the fun as well. Entrepreneur Learning Series (April 15 - Online)
Self-isolation provides a unique opportunity to learn more about things that you are passionate about. If you are an entrepreneur or have aspirations of starting your own business, then this is a great time to dive in and learn what it takes to run a successful small company. The Law Office of Aleece McKnight is hosting a free online learning series to help entrepreneurs learn how to protect their brand and business onlie. This event will take place online on April 15th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.
Carrie Welling LIVE Online (April 20 - Online)
Carrie Welling, another great musician, will perform a live online concert from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM on April 20th. The event is free to RSVP, and they accept donations during the event. You can RSVP for the Carrie Welling concert here. Carrie Welling is a singer and songwriter who has drawn comparisons to Sheryl Crow due to the sultry style she brings to the stage. Much like Richard Smith, Carrie Welling’s music is safe and fun for the entire family, and this event is a great way to stage your own concert in your home.
