Christmas is just around the corner, and it is time to start preparing the Christmas dishes for the family. If you are like many, then you may not have the time you desire to make a complex meal that takes hours upon hours to prepare. Fortunately, there are delicious options you can make easily on Christmas day.

Delicious Christmas-day dish options

A great Christmas dinner typically consists of a delicious main course, delicious side items and a tasty dessert. If you want something easy that does not take much time but is still unique from the traditional choices and very delicious, try these easy to prepare Christmas day dishes all of your guests are certain to enjoy.

Pineapple-glazed ham

A Pineapple-glazed ham is a great alternative to turkey for Christmas dinner, and it is incredibly easy to make. While, of course, you can also serve turkey, having the option of turkey, ham or a combination of both makes for an interesting way to present Christmas dinner. To prepare, all you will need is a whole bone-in ham. Then for the pineapple glaze, you will need pineapple juice, light brown sugar and dijon mustard. You then prepare the ham the same way you would normally, although you will add a simple, easy to make pineapple glaze for extra flavor. You can see full cooking instructions here.

Sweet potato casserole with pecans

Sweet potato casserole is a little more complicated, but it is still fairly easy to prepare and something your guests will love on Christmas day. Your guests may expect sweet potato casserole, but the delicious surprise of brown-sugared pecans will make the dish unique. To prepare, you will need sweet potatoes, butter, eggs, brown-sugar, pecans and maple syrup. You start by baking the sweet potatoes for approximately an hour, during which you can prepare the casserole and pecan mixture. Add the mixture to the sweet potato dish and bake for approximately another hour. You can find full cooking instructions here.

Deviled eggs

Deviled eggs are the perfect appetizer on Christmas day, although you can also serve them during the main Christmas-day meal as well. They are also easy to make and very delicious. To make deviled eggs, you will need a dozen(or perhaps more) large eggs, plain yogurt, lemon juice, dijon mustard, salt and pepper and bacon. You then place the eggs in a saucepan with water and boil. After the eggs are boiled, you then peel the shell off and cut the eggs in half. While boiling the eggs, you can prepare the mixture to have it ready to place, and you can find the complete deviled eggs recipe details here.

The bottom line

Christmas dinner does not have to be hard to prepare, and these three dishes ensure you have delicious options that do not take much effort or more than an hour or two to prepare. You can either use these dishes as the main attraction of your Christmas meal or as a way to provide additional options to your guests.
